Greg Lutzka

Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI and currently residing in Los Angeles, CA, as well mannered and quiet as he may seem, Greg Lutzka, plain and simple, is a threat. When he enters a contest, the other dudes know they are gonna have to step it up. If he doesn’t enter, you can count on it that the other guys are stoked on his absence.    
If he’s not in first place, Lutzka is always on the podium, winning events like Tampa Pro, Slaughter at the Opera, Globe World Championships, Slam City Jam and on and on. He was ranked first in street for World Cup Skateboarding in 2006 and has won silver medals at both X Games and Gravity Games. Oh yeah, and he’s only been skating 11 years… much shorter than many of the current street skating heavy hitters out there. Expect to see him on many more podiums to come.

Not only does Lutzka have his fellow competitors shakin’ in their shoes, he’s constantly unveiling new tricks and variations in his contest runs. Take for example the never-before-seen frontside 270 to backside noseblunt slide he threw down the big rail at X Games 2005… and more recently… real recently, an update to that trick… frontside 270 kickflip to backside noseblunt slide at Maloof Money Cup in July 2008. He’s the dude that will take the hardest trick and tell you, “I’m gonna land it this try,” and actually do it.

It’s progression and assertiveness like this from people like Greg that helps keep skateboarding moving forward, but Greg just isn’t a contest killer. Look at his sponsors: Almost Skateboards, Globe Shoes, Ricta Wheels, FKD Bearings, Independent Trucks, Mob Griptape, Oakley and of course, Monster Energy drink to name a few, none of which are taken too lightly.  In recent years, Greg’s also had standout parts in videos like Almost’s Round 3 and Oakley’s Our Life, and you can bet he’s currently filming for some near-future projects as well. So keep your eyes peeled for those and anything Lutzka-related because you can trust it’ll always be top notch.
