Hey dudes! Just got back from a wild 4 weeks! Started things in Tallinn, Estonia for the Summer Session. From there I came home to Ohio for 2 days and then I took off to Iraq. I went over on the “Bikes over Baghdad” tour. We went over to entertain our troops serving over there. It was hands down the most rewarding experience of my life! Despite the 120 degree heat we met so many AWESOME people!! They love Monster over there. It’s in every PX store. So many soliders were going nuts for my hats and shirts that I ended up giving them everything I had! Ive never seen someone so stoked to get a sweaty hat! We did 6 demos at three different bases. I can tell you that I am definitely going back. After the first demo a girl came up to me, she couldn’t have been older than 20 years old, she gave me a huge hug and told me that she has been in Iraq for 9 months and the last hour was “the first time I forgot I was in Iraq”. I almost lost it right there. Like I said –life changing. We got to ride on Blackhawks, Chinnooks, and C-130’s. Full Military escort everywhere. Pretty rad. A huge thank you to everyone in the armed forces serving everywhere in the world. After Iraq it was off to the Dew Tour in Salt Lake City. Watched his royal highness and Monster rider Jamie Bestwick take yet another Dew Tour win. One more and it’s 5 DEW CUPS IN A ROW. Go Jamie! From SLC I hit up Vegas for the annual Interbike. I’m home for 3 days and then it’s off to England to announce the super secret Tunnel jam. Don’t worry-no matter how secret. I’ll get an update. Here are some pics. Holla!
TOsato and Kagy en route to another base. Bullet proof vests everywhere! Thanks to Rooftop for what is the best picture ever. This is what I feel like when I wake up. I love the green laser so much. So so much. This is a little C4. If you don't know what that is..you probably have never been in a roman candle fight either. This is a LOT

Hey everyone! Wanted to take a quick minute to get you up to speed on what’s been going on in my world. Stryder, the new addition to the family is doing awesome. He turned 6 weeks old Friday and has already gained 3 lbs! Stryder has been camping every weekend since he was born and had a blast at his very first elk camp. Here’s a picture of me, Stryder and the bull I got with my bow. Last weekend we got dumped on with snow in the hills. It was awesome! It made me realize just how close winter is. The web site has been updated with a bunch of cool new features, videos, pictures etc. so check it out! www.burandtsbackcountryadventure.com New sleds for the year will be showing up soon and then I will really be ready for the white stuff! Bookings for this year are going great. Over the last 2 weeks 7 groups have committed to their adventure for the 2009-2010 season. Looks like it’s going to be another great year! It was pretty funny the other day I got a call from my moto buddy Travis Pastrana. He told me over the phone, “Dude, I think I just rode by your house!” Come to find out Travis was in town racing the Steamboat Rally Car race. The crazy thing was that he got to the race on his mountain bike from Canada on his way to Mexico! Go figure that it was snowing the day Kenny Bartram, Special Greg and Travis decided to travel across Colorado on mountain bikes. Man I love Colorado! LOL. So we hooked for dinner and it was cool to hang out and get caught up. Good luck in getting to Mexico TP! Chat with you soon. Let it snow !

Hey Monster Army!
this past few weeks have been super busy. to start things off we headed to slat lake city for the
2nd last stop of the tour. this is always my favourite stop cause the jumps are always awesome and big. im heaps stoked my back is holding up so i could ride this stop. the course setup was pretty dope, big booter first set straight into a left turn, then it was a booter outta the turn then straight into a right hip then left hip the last set. the course was fun and pretty tech and i loved the big booter first set. i qualified into finals in 2nd, so i was so stoked on that. i always feel that prelims is harder than finals. once your in finals then you can relax and know the worst you can come is 12th. the next day was finals day. i woke up heaps sore. i guess it was from walking up the little crappy steps that had going up the roll in cause i didnt crash at all during prelims. we had a chill day and then went down to practice. it was a pretty windy evening cause there was a big storm rolling through the mountains surrounding SLC. it didnt bother me too much, im use to the wind having to ride in vegas all the time. finally the comp started and i rolled in for my first run. i wanted to do the same run in prelims as my firrst run in finals so i had one in the bank. i was stoked cause i pulled it perfect. better than how i did it in prelims. my second run was similar but instead of doing a regular 360 whip mid set, i wanted to do a 360 double whip. i was pumped cause i pulled that run clean too. so after having 2 runs in the bank i just thought id send it in my last run and triple whip the frist set, 360 double whip mid set and finish off we another 720 on the last set. i landed the triple whip perfect which gave me a bit of extra heat in the turn and i over shot the opposite 360 outta the turn so that was my throw away run. at the end of the day to finish in 4th place and pull my first 2 runs im heaps stoked. im also stoked that i did a lot of different stuff than what i normally do. i.e 720's, oppo 3's instead of flip whips and frontys. so back home in vegas now, its the biggest week in vegas for bmx all year. with interbike, the stephen murray bar benefit and nora cup you know the week is going to be long... i wanted to keep it chill and not participate in all of the late night parties and what not that was going on, so i attended the bar benefit for stephen, which was awesome, and then pretty much chilled for the rest of the week. now the wind has come up and were pretty much just chillin on the couch, hopefully by the weekend were shredding the yard again. cheers,
Cam

Season Two Premiers September 27, at 8:30 PM ET/PTLOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - FUEL TV, the only 24/7 action sports lifestyle network, is pleased to announce the premiere of season two of “The Adventures of Danny & The Dingo” on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 8:30 PM ET/PT. In this seven-episode series, take a look into pro snowboarders’ and skateboarders’ lives, following two-time Olympic medalist and snow icon Danny Kass and zero-time Olympic medalist and snow personality Luke “The Dingo” Trembath, as they and their crew attempt to tour across the country on the Grenade RV premiering their movie “The Boned Age.” Along the way, they pick up the certifiably insane pro snowboarder Lucas Magoon, Playboy Playmate Heather Rene Smith, and a slew of pro skateboarders including Clyde Singleton, David Gravette, Devin Appelo, Tom Ryen, and Willis Kimbel, building the forming a new Grenade skateboard team. This year’s adventures return to a state of chaos, including a destroyed RV, run-ins with the law, and a lot of hurt feelings and bruised egos. But none of this prevents the boys from having the time of their lives. “The crew just destroyed things this season,” says show co-star the Dingo. “We had a much larger crew taping these shows, which led to double the mayhem. We drank, we fought, we partied!” “I never thought we would actually have a TV show, and now we’re on our second season,” says the co-star of the show, Danny Kass. “It’s so much fun to do this series because we get to show the world the amazing and sometime insane lives we live.” “It’s a non-stop party, from the point where the guys purchase ‘streed cred’ from MTV’s Rob Dyrdek, to enlisting a Playboy Playmate to be their full-time assistant, to basically kidnapping pro skateboarder Clyde Singleton to join their tour;” says Shon Tomlin, FUEL TV’s VP of Programming and Development. “This season is full of mischief, misfortunes, and surprises. I could watch the full season in one sitting … no problem.” The seven-episode season of “The Adventures of Danny & The Dingo” will begin airing Sunday, September 27, 2009, at 8:30pm ET/PT, and episodes will re-air several times each week. They will also be available for download from iTunes, and can also be watched online at www.fuel.tv and on www.hulu.com. Promotional photos are available upon request. Pierre Luc Gagnon and Jamie Bestwick are dominating the Dew Tour’s Skate and BMX vert, while Dave Mirra’s stepped up his BMX Park game CORONA, Calif., (Sept. 18, 2009) – A wave of Monster Energy M-claw athletes are gathering and about to roll into Salt Lake City in a wave of action sports destruction the likes of which brought Tokyo to its knees during the great Godzilla attacks of the 1970s. Round four of the 2009 AST Dew Tour springs into action today, drawing the world’s action sports community together for one rip roarin’ weekend of competition on the ramps and dirt jumps. The penultimate round, dubbed the Toyota Challenge, will feature all the sports coming together for the first time on the Dew Tour this summer – including FMX, which has been a demonstration sport at the previous Dew Tour rounds up to this point. FMX Monster’s Nate Adams and Adam Jones will head up the Monster FMX corps. Adams will for sure be one of the favorites to capture the overall win as he’d look to make amends for sketching at the X Games and losing the gold to Monster’s Bilko Williams (who won’t be at SLC). And Jones can just as easily step up and challenge for the win at a venue where he won last year and is the overall defending champ of the series. Skate PLG’s got the skate vert ramp covered. The defending champ won the opener in Boston and finished 2nd in Portland (Ore.) and holds an 18-point lead, 190-172, over Andy McDonald. PLG’s buddy and Maloof Money Cup vert winner, Alex Perelson, has scored in both Dew Tour skate vert rounds and is tied for 8th place overall with Anthony Furlong, each with 112 points. Outside the top ten overall in the Dew Tour’s skate vert standings are Monster’s Paul Luc-Ronchetti, who’s tied with Lincoln Ueda for 14th place (66 points each) and Jean Postec who’s just outside the top 15 (16th with 64 points). On the park course it’s about time for Monster’s Greg Lutzka to break out and Ollie up to the podium. The former Dew Tour overall skate park runner-up (2007) and multi-time event winner has scored in both skate events and is currently in 6th place in the standings with 120 points. Also skating well at the first two rounds has been Monster newcomer Christian Sereika. The street ripper from Utah is just outside the park’s top 25 (26th with 34 points) and will have the hometown advantage when the Dew Tour hits SLC. If you’re going to SLC, keep an eye out for Monster Army members Tyson Bowerbank and D’Andre Pendergrass in the Free Flow Finals. BMX The hits just keep on coming with the BMX bikes as Monster Energy athletes have pretty much dominated the BMX ramp scene. Leading the way on the vert ramp is three-time defending Dew Tour champ, Jamie Bestwick – who’s yet to lose a Dew Tour event this year and enters as the reigning X Games vert champ. And back to his BMX park roots in a big way has been Monster’s Dave Mirra, who was splitting time between bikes and rally cars for some time before really focusing back in on BMX. Mirra’s silver medal at X Games was preceded by a head-spinning performance at the Chicago Dew Tour opener – which he won. Mirra proved to his fans how important BMX is to him by finishing as the runner-up at the Portland Dew Tour round, putting him in a tie for the overall lead in BMX park with Garrett Reynolds. Toss in 2009 X Games park gold medalist Scotty Cranmer, multi Dew Tour round winner Mike Spinner and former overall Dew Tour park champ Ryan Guettler and Monster has a legit shot of sweeping the entire SLC BMX park podium. In dirt defending Dew Tour champ Cameron White is looking for a breakout session as he sits back in 19th place. Cranmer’s killed it in dirt thus far and sits in 6th, while Guettler’s just a couple spots back in 9th. On the mic be sure to check out everyone’s favorite Zach “Catfish” Yankush, who fires up the fans from the announcer’s booth at the Dew Tour. Next up on the Dew Tour schedule is the Sept. 17-20 Toyota Challenge in Salt Lake City. For more information on the Dew Tour, link to www.dewtour.com Monster Energy supports the sport. Be it the Dew Tour, mountain bikes, PWC racing, off road, MX, rally, insane distance jumping, SX, MotoGP, road racing, supermoto, FMX, skate, rock crawling, wake, mini bikes, surf, snow, BMX – name it – the athletes are rockin’ Monster Energy more than anything these days. Check out all the types – Original Monster Energy, Monster Lo-Carb, Monster Assault, Monster Khaos, Monster’s fruit juice hybrid dubbed “M-80,” the party-friendly MIXXD, the ground-breaking Java Monster premium coffee & cream drink line supercharged with our Monster Energy blend, along with the new Monster Energy “Hitman” energy shot. Our guys rockin’ the Dew Tour dig ‘em – so will you. On the ‘Net at www.monsterarmy.com and www.monsterenergy.com

Patrick and Bilko are best friends forever!
Bilko Bilko and Patrick do their daily check of ESPN.com/Action, followed by a little Facebook. If you've never metPatrick, then you don't know how amazing the pink little starfish can be. I first met Patrick at Bilko's Murrieta house — he was kicking back few Corona's and watching Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory on MTV, just living the dream. Since then, every single time I run into Patrick he's hard at work or hard at play, but he always has a smile on his face.
Recently Bilko sent me a bunch of photos of him and his buddy and they're just too awesome to keep to myself. But before I show you a photo diary of Patrick's adventures, I had Bilko tell us a bit more about his best friend in the entire world. Story and photos after the jump.
-
Bilko Patrick just loves FMX. Here he pays a visit to Nate Adams FMX park. "Patrick started hanging out with us on the Crusty Tour in New Zealand. We met him at an after party at some dudes house, which ended up turning into a table tennis tournament. Brooksy (The main man that makes everything on the Crusty tour happen) was actually the first to meet Patrick and so he invited him to come hang out with us at the event.
He had so much fun and he didn't really have much going on, so we took him on the rest of NZ Crusty Tour with us and he had a ball. He spends a lot of time with the track crew, driving trucks from stop to stop, setting up the lighting, sound equipment and ramps before the riders get to the show. I usually go see him during our first practice, but I always have to play "Where's Patrick?" The track crew always hides him in a secret location. Then we usually hang out during the pre-show. He's actually been in quite a few segments with me — riding on my handlebars or on my helmet and he loves it. He's actually pulled off a 360 heelclicker to no-hander lander!
After the Capital City Crusty Tour he came to America, but he had a little bit of trouble with customs for reasons I/we can't discuss. But since being here in the states, he's really been enjoying his time. He got to be down on the floor for the entire Best Trick contest at X Games and he even held my helmet between runs.
That's Patrick in a nut shell. He's there for more than just his good looks — he can help with everything, he's a good listener and he's always positive! He's always smiling!" —Bilko -
Bilko Patrick is a HUGE Twitch fan... and a major weight lifter. -
Bilko Out of all the modes of transportation, Patrick prefers Bilko's backpack. -
Bilko Changing a rear tire in five minutes? No problem! -
Bilko Patrick's first-ever visit to X Games... -
Bilko And it was a good one! Gold baby! -
Bilko Patrick's life is filled with travel and excitement. -
Bilko Nothing like a good whiff of VP fuel... awe! Patrick calls it "brain food." -
Bilko Patrick pays a visit to Oakley's main headquarters. You should've seen how much swag he walked out with! -
Bilko Ladies love the pink starfish... -
Bilko Keeping the nuts and bolts tight. -
Bilko Patrick does his best to stay in shape. 200 pounds? No problem! -
Bilko Patrick and Bilko are addicted to Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory.

Hey guys, been so busy for me lately so its been a minute since my last update, but here it is. well since i got the epidural injection in my spine a couple of weeks ago, my back has started to feel really good. its been that long since my back has had this pain free movement i had forgotten how good it actually feels to be healthy. i started riding agin, i was a bit hesitant at first because i was worried that my pain would come back and i would be back to being hurt. it was such a crappy injury limiting so much so the last thing i wanted was to be back there. i had a couple of chill sessions in the yard and it held up really good, so last wednesday i went to woodward for the day with nate. this was the first big session i had on my bike in ages. i got tired pretty quick due to being unfit, but everything felt great on my bike. the next day i was pretty sore and tender but that was all over not just my back. since then ive been riding every morning, having sweet as sessions cause the weather is great out here this time of year except for the last 2 days with this crappy wind, but hopefully that blows out soon!
ive also had my mates Rob, Megan and Bairdy over here visiting from australia, and before then my mum and sister as well. its been a good time having everyone here visiting and travelling to utah and san diego and getting our chill on. next thing on my list is the Salt Lake City Dew stop, im excited cause as of today (touch wood) this will be my first comp all year with out any injuries. so hopefully its a good one and this lack of time on my bike doesnt effect me. either way its gonna be heaps of fun cause salt lake is always the best stop so im excited. the drawings of the jumps look awesome, lets hope there big and fast, just like i like em.
well thats pretty much all i have for this update, thanks heaps Doc for helping out and getting my back dialled in.. stoked.

Monster’s Rossi wins San Marino MotoGP, Monster/PC/Kawi’s Pourcel wins Steel City MX National and Bou wins third-straight FIM Trials eventMonster Energy’s elite motorcycle competitors took center stage this past Labor Day weekend and came away with three big time wins. Beginning with MotoGP, Monster’s Valentino Rossi (Fiat/Yamaha) was back on the top step of the podium in the world’s premier road racing series, winning hometown GP in San Marino. The 103rd MotoGP victory of his career, Rossi overcame a rare DNF last week in Indianapolis to win at the Misano circuit – running away from the rest of the field and increasing his overall MotoGP lead to 30 points. “I am more like a flying donkey now!” quipped Rossi after his win (in reference to his donkey helmet from the movie “Shrek”), adding: “This is a great feeling! It's taken me some time to get used to Misano and view it as a ‘home' race because Mugello is so special to me, but I can honestly say that winning here today, in front of everyone dressed in yellow and with 46s everywhere, is a great emotion and I want to thank everyone for making it so special. Today I had to go quite carefully with the full tank at the start and I took some time to get to the front but once I was there it was great and my bike felt fantastic. We didn't expect to be this competitive here but it's been a perfect weekend, so I have to say a huge thank you to the team for a brilliant job. Since Indianapolis, when I made that mistake, we have been so focused and concentrated and everyone deserves this result. I am happy that we are going into a month without racing with these memories and this points lead, but as we saw in Indy everything can change quickly so we will be fully focused once again in Estoril when we come back.” The weekend wasn’t so kind to ex-patriot Colin Edwards (Yamaha Tech 3) who was taken out in a questionable move by local rider Alex de Angelis. Edwards, who is in a tight points chase with Andrea Dovizioso, was pretty chapped about the incident. Said Edwards: “I thought I had the pace to easily be fourth and maybe fight with (Daniel) Pedrosa for a podium but we are in Italy and occasionally you have to deal with an Italian rider who wants to be a hero and today that was de Angelis. Turn one at the start with seventeen bikes is not the place to be going at race pace and he was never going to make it through there. Today de Angelis is the guy who needed to be wearing Valentino's donkey helmet. I didn't know what happened until I was sliding through the gravel. Turn one is the most dangerous time to crash with so many bikes around you, it is unacceptable. I've been fighting with Dovizioso in the championship most of the season and now he has ten points on me with four races to go. That's racing.” San Marino MotoGP 1st – Valentino Rossi 10th – James Toseland 125 class 3rd – Bradley Smith 10th – Danny Webb Lucas Oil AMA MX Nationals at Steel City, Pa. The final round of the summer MX Nationals is in the books and, though he’d win the last 250 race of the year at Steel City Raceway, Christophe Pourcel will no doubt look back on the previous week at Southwick (Mass.) – the race where the title chase was ultimately lost to Ryan Dungey. Pourcel’s 1-1 performance was a reminder of how fast the Frenchman is and to what extent he can handle the American circuits during his first year of pro MX Nationals competition riding for the Monster/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team. In the end it’d be a mere 11 points (503 to 492) that separated the two. Also putting the M-claw logo up in the top ten of the 250 class were Jake Weimer in 5th and Austin Stroupe in 7th. Weimer would go on to place 4th overall in the 250 class season standings, with Monster/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki teammate Tyla Rattray in 9th overall. In the 450 class Monster Energy/Kawasaki’s Jake Moss put up the fastest lap time in practice and was up to 4th place in the opening moto when he was struck with some arm pump and settled on 10th. Moss rebounded in the second moto and made the podium (2nd) for 4th place overall on the day, four spots ahead of his teammate, Tim Ferry, who had a solid 8th place finish to wrap up an injury-plagued summer for the rider known as “Red Dog.” Boost/ampm/Monster/Troy-JLaw Racing’s Nick Wey rounded out the season in 8th place in the overall 450 standings, placing 13th at Steel City. And Monster Energy/Cernic’s/Kawasaki’s Bob Kiniry would place 12th on the day. Steel City Raceway MX National 250 class 1st – Christophe Pourcel 5th – Jake Weimer 7th – Austin Stroupe 27th – Tucker Hibbert 450 class 4th – Jake Moss 8th – Tim Ferry 12th – Bob Kiniry 13th – Nick Wey World Superbike at Nurburgring, Germany Monster Energy’s Cal Crutchlow (Yamaha) was unstoppable as he took an incredible fifth race World Supersport win of the season at the Nurburgring circuit in Germany. Starting from pole, Crutchlow led the race from the start, laying down fast lap after fast lap, leaving the competition with nothing to do but fight amongst themselves. Such was his pace that midway through the race the British rider had a huge lead on his closest rival, a gap which increased to just over ten seconds by the checkered flag. WSB @ Nurburgring 1st – Cal Crutchlow 6th – Leon Haslam 15th – Anthony West DNF – John Hopkins AMA Superbike at New Jersey Motorsports Park Monster Energy-backed Chaz Davies (Aprilia) scored another podium finish in the in the AMA SportBike class, racing his Aprilia RSV1000R to a 2nd place finish in the first of two SportBike contests at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Monster Energy/Kawasaki’s Leandro Mercado made his return to the AMA Superbike Series with a 10th place finish in the opening SportBike race. On day two at New Jersey Motorsports Park Monster Energy’s Jamie Hacking and Roger Lee Hayden put up some solid numbers, placing 5th and 6th, respectively. Mercado was 11th in SportBike action on day two, while Davies suffered a DNF. AMA Superbike Series, New Jersey Saturday SportBike 2nd – Chaz Davies 10th – Leandro Mercado Sunday 5th – Jamie Hacking 6th – Roger Lee Hayden 11th – Leandro Mercado DNF – Chaz Davies SPEA FIM Trial World Championship of Spain Monster Energy’s Toni Bou (Repsol Montesa Honda) took another important step towards securing his third successive SPEA FIM Trial World Championship when he took the win at his home Grand Prix in Spain. Once again the Spaniard was in a class of his own, finishing ahead of teammate Fujinami and previous round winner Jeroni Fajardo. World Trial Championships, Spain 1st – Toni Bou AMA Supermoto Finals, Miller Motorsports Park, Tooele, Utah Brandon Currie (Monster Energy/Yamaha) nailed down his first premier class (450s) win when out out-dueled eventual SuMo Series champion Sylvain Bidart in a drag race to the finish. Monster Energy’s Mark Burkhart (KTM) would place 4th and 3rd in the double race day, placing 2nd to Bidart in the overall 450 class points chase. Monster Energy-backed mini bike racer Derek Costella (BBR) would wind up 3rd overall in the 450 class’ season points chase with Currie 4th. AMA Supermoto Finals, Utah First 450 race 1st – Brandon Currie 3rd – Derek Costella 4th – Mark Burkhart Second 450 race 3rd – Mark Burkhart Parts Canada Superbike Series, Shannonville, Ontario Newly-signed Monster Energy’s Jordan Szoke locked down his record fourth-straight Parts Canada Superbike Championship this past weekend at Shannonville Motorsports Park, racing his Kawasaki ZX-10R to a 2nd place finish and earning him the overall championship ahead of rival Brett McCormick, 341-336. “I had to ride hard today,” the 30-year-old Szoke said. “I don’t know if I had anything for Brett. This is a lot of weight off my shoulders. Brett’s definitely given me the hardest run of my career. It’s been a super year, a really exciting year for me.” Szoke went on to win the season’s Sport Bike Championship – also his fourth-straight – again placing 2nd to McCormick in the 15-lap race aboard the Kawasaki ZX-6R. Szoke compiled 345 points (to McCormick’s 340) to win the Sport Bike title. Parts Canada Shannonville finals Superbike 2nd – Jordan Szoke (wins overall championships) Sport Bike 2nd – Jordan Szoke (wins overall championship) Traxxas TORC at Crandon International Raceway, Wis. A charging Rick Huseman (Monster Energy/Toyota), the PRO 4x4 points leader, moved up to 2nd place in Crandon’s Sunday main event, then had to run much of the race with a piece of Fiberglass bodywork wedged in front of his face. Huseman spent the next several laps – and through the finish – literally having to drive looking from side-to-side instead of forward. “The truck worked perfect – except I couldn’t see,” joked Huseman, who’s second place finish kept him out in the points lead, 265-244 over Kyle LeDuc. World motorcycle jumping distance King Ryan Capes builds a scaffolding ramp suitable for a ‘Stones concert and goes after Jason Rennie’s 253-foot record CORONA, Calif., (Sept. 12, 2009) – While these mega ramp-to-dirt mountain jumps approaching 400-feet are definitely bananas, Monster Energy’s Ryan Capes is turning the motorcycle distance jumping hands of time back to the days of Evel Knievel with a record-breaking – and considerably more technical – ramp-to-ramp jump attempt scheduled for Sept. 26th at Reno’s (Nevada) Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. The marquee attraction for the launch of the Grand Sierra’s new Extreme Sports Bar, Capes’ world record attempt – dubbed “All In” – will feature the most massive aluminum, steel and plywood scaffold structure landing ramp ever created, says Capes – a landing structure that will revolutionize the sport of distance jumping. “Wait until you see this thing. It’s bigger than anything the Rolling Stones ever built!,” exclaimed Capes. “We’re going after Jason Rennie’s ramp-to-ramp mark of 253 feet he set about ten years ago in the UK and, if all goes well, I hope to break the 300 foot ramp-to-ramp barrier at the Grand Sierra, much like I did jumping to ramp-to-dirt in 2005.” Capes will attempt the jump on a beast of a bike created by Pro Circuit boss Mitch Payton and the off-road motorcycle wizards at Service Kawasaki. Shoe-horning a Kawasaki 500cc two-stroke engine into a KX250F frame, the bike, which Capes says is so sick that “Mitch Payton won’t let it out of his sight,” will visit the air above the Reno skyline for the first time in its maiden jumping voyage at the Grand Sierra. Dubbed the “Destroyer” by Capes, the morphed ’09 special edition Monster Energy/Kawasaki KX250F also features Showa “A-stuff” works suspension, a Pro Circuit motor tune and titanium fasteners, nuts and bolts everywhere, courtesy of Met Tec. “Destroyer will weigh less than 200 pounds – some 40 pounds less than my previous KX450F that I set the world distance record on this past year, 391’-4’’ in Washington,” says Capes. Touching down for the first time at such an extreme distance – to plywood vs. dirt – won’t be a problem in the least, Capes assures. “Not only will it be easier because I can control the dimensions much easier than with dirt, wood flexes and, contrary to what people think, will be much easier to land on that dirt,” said Capes, who’s known throughout the jumping industry for his state-of-the-art distance ramp design and construction. “So this will be a historic jump for a number of reasons, And if all goes as planned, it will revolutionize the way distance jumping’s viewed because I plan on going 400 feet ramp-to-ramp as well.” Wrapping things up Capes said he once had a talk with his friend Evel Knievel a couple years before the legend passed and Knievel told Capes “Nobody can jump 300 feet ramp-to-ramp.” Added Capes at the time: “I’m gonna, Evel.” Presented by Monster Energy and Livfast, the “All In” jump at Reno’s Grand Sierra Hotel will also feature an FMX demo by Mike Mason, Dustin Miller and Tim O’Brien, the Monster Energy Stage with live music from DJ/EJ Luera, the Monster Girls and Livfast Ladies, Monster Energy product sampling and an autograph session with all the riders. For more information on the event link to the Grand Sierra’s website at: http://www.grandsierraresort.com In addition to Monster Energy, Capes is helped out by the following sponsors: Pro Circuit, Ogio, Von Zipper, Fox, Kicker, Uni Filters, One Industries, BBR, Asterisk, KMC Wheels, Works Connection, Skullcandy, Pit Posse, D.I.D, Maxima Oil, Pro Taper, Dunlop Tires, Acerbis, Hinson Racing Components, Boyesen. Monster Energy supports the sport. Be it insane distance jumping, MX, rally, SX, MotoGP, road racing, supermoto, off-road, FMX, skate, MTB, rock crawling, wake, mini bikes, surf, snow, BMX – name it – the athletes are rockin’ Monster Energy more than anything these days. Rally events are once a month so that take the pressure off me to fit in additional practice time daily. Plus the events are so much fun!

Unfortunately though, we could only pick one winner and that person is Mike Long! He'll be receiving the Autographed Kyle Loza Jersey! Here's his winning entry:

We selected Mike's entry because it shows he loves the brand, loves the drink, and was extremely creative. Nice job Mike!

Hyro da Hero doesn't have to front. The Houston-born, Los Angeles-based rapper has a vision for music. It doesn't include flavor-of-the-week ringtones and absurd novelty dances. It has nothing to do with pre-packaged Hollywood pretense or fluffed and folded egos. Much to the contrary, Hyro's vision involves real rhymes about real life, music with a message, buoyant, bombastic beats and daggers shot right between the eyes of every fake MC on the scene. Hyro isn't afraid to tell it like it is. He'll call your favorite rapper out in one track, and then he'll shine some light on a major social problem in another. However, he's also apt to get the club bouncing with a grit and gusto that's classy and chock full of swagger.

Best thing outside of winning an X Games medal? Running the Monster Energy M-claw logo at the X-Fighters events and kicking everyone’s butt on your dirt bike! CORONA, Calif., (Sept. 3, 2009) – While Monster Energy’s Bilko Williams and Kyle Loza were shining atop the X Games’ FMX podiums this past month, their M-claw running rare air flyer and former X Games champ himself, Nate Adams, was busy cleaning house on the world’s global FMX stage at the X-Fighters events. World Champ’s got a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Adams thinks so. In fact, he’s down with buddy Bilko earning some X-stardom (Nate got bronze) and the fact that, having won everything else in FMX and being the first guy to beat Pastrana head’s up, Adams’ Red Bull X-Fighters world title – running the Monster Energy colors – was big in its own right. Though he missed the opening round of the X-Fighters in Mexico City, Adams came up with a win at the U.S. round (Texas) and placed 2nd in Spain. Then, with everything on the line last week at London’s Battersea Power Station, Adams stepped up and won again – clinching the overall ’09 X-Fighters crown. Between chiropractor and masseuse visits Adams caught up with Monster Energy to talk up his competition summer and what he has planned for the upcoming months – some of which will no doubt surprise the Monster Army members. Monster Energy: Hey Nate, tell us what’s the scene like globally for FMX? Seems like the fans in some countries are even crazier for the sport than we are here. Nate Adams: “Yeah, I did the whole series – except for the first round in Mexico City – and it’s blowing up big. Here in the U.S., especially in California, freestyle seems watered down a bit in the usual arena or speedway. The promoters of the X-Fighters did a good job taking the events to a cool area that makes for great photos. The events were always sold out and fans were tripping out. They don’t even believe our sport’s real until they see it in person – live.” Monster Energy: Live’s definitely better. Nate Adams: “Yeah, no offense, but NASCAR on TV puts me to sleep. But I go and see it in person and I have a whole lot of respect for what they’re doing.” Monster Energy: Did winning the world title make up for not getting gold at X Games 15? Nate Adams: “Not really. I see them as two totally separate events and they’re the two biggest things in our sport right now. Honestly, X Games I was prepared to win. Nothing against Bilko, he’s a good buddy, rode great and deserved it. He was the most prepared. Dumbest thing I ever did was slid out on the roll-in – I’m sure everybody saw it – but those things happen I guess. Chalk that one up to ‘the game.’ Salvaged something out of the season after winning the X-Fighters deal, put a smile back on my face. Treated every individual X-Fighters as a contest and always wanted to go out there and be the guy that was putting out 100-percent. Didn’t want to sit back and think ‘I got a medal at X – I’m done for the year.” Monster Energy: What’s going on the rest of the summer for you? Nate Adams: “I’ve got the Dew Tour demos coming up. I’ve got the LG Action Sport Championship in October. Then I’m going straight into training for supercross …” Monster Energy: Ooo … Monster Energy AMA Supercross? Nate Adams: “Yeah. I’m planning on doing the first few rounds before I start in on the Crusty Tour.” Monster Energy: Last time you rode supercross you got banged up a bit. Little pay back time to that track triple landing that rose up and bit you? Nate Adams: “Second practice at Anaheim (Calif.) 1 I missed a shift and hit a triple in first gear, just framed it and broke my wrist. So that was kind of a bummer – right there in a qualifying position. So I’ve got to try again.” Monster Energy: Right on. You see any good movies this summer? Nate Adams: “Public Enemy was pretty sweet. District 9 was alright. But that’s pretty much it. Basically my summer was all training and riding. Didn’t get out to many movies. Guess I was pretty boring this summer.” Monster Energy: What’s your all-time favorite old school FMX video? Nate Adams: “I don’t know if you guys remember it – it was called Air Style. It followed the first Four Leaf freestyle tour events. Did one in Spokane (Wash.), one in Lake Havasu (Ariz.), another in SoCal. They followed all these original contests, guys like Trevor Vines, Chris Dowagiac, (Brian) Deegan, (Mad Mike) Jones and Pastrana on a 125. I used to watch that video at least once a day.” Monster Energy: If you had to watch X Games on TV like most of us, what would your favorite events be? Nate Adams: “Probably supercross. But if I have to pick something outside of my sport, I’d pick skateboard street and BMX park.” Monster Energy: What other action sports do you fool around with? You been doing that at all? Nate Adams: “I actually skated for like five years, through middle school and a little bit into high school. Rode some dirt BMX a bit, too. Which helps me appreciate those sports more. It’s pretty crazy what those guys are doing. Now I snowboard a little bit. Get like ten days in this year. Other than that that’s pretty much it.” Next up for Monster Energy’s Nate Adams is the Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge in Salt Lake City, Sept. 17-20. Monster Energy supports the sport. Be it FMX, SX, MX, rally, insane distance jumping, MotoGP, road racing, supermoto, off-road, skate, MTB, rock crawling, wake, mini bikes, surf, snow, BMX – name it – the athletes are rockin’ Monster Energy more than anything these days. Wakeskate Competition to be in Fort Worth, TexasFort Worth, TX. (August 28, 2009) – On Saturday, September 19th some of the top professional wakeskaters in the world will make their way to Fort Worth, Texas to participate in the Monster Energy Trinity River Round Up. This will be, a unique competition that will take place on several custom built rails and obstacles over a spillway on the Trinity River in Trinity Park. The event was originally scheduled to take place earlier this year during Fort Worth’s Annual Mayfest Celebration, but the festival was cancelled due to a swine flu scare
The Monster Energy Trinity River Round-Up is the brainchild of Dallas Texas based pro rider, Clint Tompkins. Known for his technical prowess on rails and obstacles and his never-ending search for new, undiscovered “winch” spots, Tompkins wanted to create an event that would bring some of his friends and fellow competitors to Texas to compete in a unique, natural setting. With $5000 in prize money up for grabs. The Monster Energy Trinity River Round Up will be the first pro wakeskate competition to take place in an all-natural setting and some of the most celebrated names in the sport are already scheduled to compete including Tompkins, Reed Hansen, Andrew Pastura, Ross Gardner, George Daniels, Matt Hooker, Collin Gee and recent Alliance Wakeboard Magazine cover boy – Dieter Humpsch. Invitations are also out to Aaron Reed, Brian Grubb, Matt Manzari and Nick Taylor. In addition to Monster Energy Drink, the event is sponsored by Freeman Toyota/SCION, Woly Board Company, FUEL TV, Time Warner Cable and Liquid Force. Media partners include Alliance Wakeboard Magazine, the Fort Worth Weekly and Wakeworld.com.

You’re a busy guy, what have you been up to recently?
I’ve been putting full focus on the Dew Cup. I’m currently tied for first place in park, this is a huge accomplishment for me! My goal is to go into Salt Lake with a good attitude and secure some top points to head into the Orlando final. How do you spread your time between two professions—BMX and rally racing—while owning and operating Mirraco, one of the sickest companies in the game? Rally events are once a month so that take the pressure off me to fit in additional practice time daily. Plus the events are so much fun! My full focus daily is on BMX. Having my own training facility makes it easier to just pop in for a great afternoon session. Over at Mirraco my partner Jim Ford and the staff carry the load so that I can just focus on train. Thanks Guys!
Speaking of time management, you compete in both Rally and Big Air at X games! How does it work logistically with Summer X practice times? Is there enough time to legitimately prepare for both? It is definitely tough to juggle the schedules for multiple events. It’s difficult to stay focused when competing in 3 events. I decided to pull out of park this past year at X Games so I could focus on big air and rally. I’d like to compete in all three, we’ll see what next year’s schedule looks like. How do you mentally prepare for two totally different disciplines at one event? It’s a bit easier since they are different sports/events. Rally racing is all mental where BMX is both physical and mental. Plus standing on the top of the mega ramp roll in is a always a bit scary because you know that an injury can always come into play. Summer X Games was heavy this year—congrats, Let’s get into the Dew Tour. You really killed the Nike 6.0 BMX Open in Chicago? You grabbed 2nd at the Portland Dew stop tying Garret Reynolds for top overall points in the Dew Cup chase. What would the cup mean to Mirra the Rally Racer and Mirra the BMX rider? For me to win a Dew Tour at this point in my career would be a huge accomplishment. The last two rally events conflict with the Dew Tour schedule but after my success in the first two stops – I have decided to make a run for my first Dew Cup Championships Title. For someone who is a professional in multiple sports, you‘re really doing it. Does living in Greenville help you stay on top of your game, and how so? Greenville helps me stay on top of my BMX game because of my training facility being so accessible. Also having my riding crew surrounding me only pushes me to ride harder. For Rally, being on the same DC/Monster/Subaru team as friends Ken Block and Travis Pastrana always helps me stays focused and has also helped speed us my learning curve learning from those guys. What’s your favorite flavor of Monster or Monster mix? Low carb monster Please give a quick shout out to the kids in the Monster Army!
