With the win Reed moved to within one point of series points leader Jay Marmont, 107-108, with two rounds remaining in the series – including this weekend’s Nov. 21st round at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton, New Zealand. And while Reed won, McGrath, who has Australian heritage on his mom’s side of the family, whipped the fans into a frenzy by topping Marmont by a split second for 2nd place in the Open class. “I felt great on the bike tonight and I was going for jumps that I haven’t been attempting at the other rounds,” noted Reed. “The atmosphere and crowd tonight were fantastic and it’s so good to have Jeremy out here racing. I idolized him when I was a kid so it is really special.” Monster Energy Australasian Super-X, Sydney, Australia 1st – Chad Reed 2nd – Jeremy McGrath Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau, fueled by Monster Energy, Waimea Bay Quiksilver today announced that Monster Energy will fuel the upcoming Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau surf contest at Hawaii’s legendary Waimea Bay. Building on Brock Hoyer's successful weekend at the opening rounds, the team looked to grab more spots on the podium and they didn't disappoint. With an extra week of seat time on his KX250F, Brady Sheren looked much more comfortable and ready to battle. He ran with the leaders all weekend and almost managed to win Friday night's MX2 main, coming across the line in second. He backed it up with a pair of fourths during Saturday's racing, just missing out on both podiums. With his return to form the team expects more big things as the series progresses. Hoyer again showed that he is one of the men to beat in the series as he ran up front all weekend. Donning the big number one plate on his KX450F he won both his heats on Friday. Unfortunately when the gate dropped for the MX2 main, Hoyer found himself on the ground. Remounting in last he put on a valiant charge to take fifth by the end of the race. Things faired better for him in the Open main as he grabbed the holeshot and put in a great three-way battle for the lead with Kyle Beaton and Dusty Klatt. Brock pulled through to take third at the finish line and currently sits second in points. The team's third rider, Kris Foster, put in a series of consistent rides with a 6th in Friday's Open main his best result. Canadian AX opener, Chilliwack B.C.
