Dave Mirra

BMX

Every sport has an athlete who not only performs at a level above and beyond, but is also an ambassador who draws in the general public. In BMX that rider is Dave Mirra. Since the age of 14, it was obvious that “Little Buddy” from Upstate New York had skills well beyond his years, but no one could have predicted that he would become the most dominating rider and most decorated action sports athlete of all time. Name a title and Mirra has won it, most likely multiple times. Mirra is a master of all aspects of BMX, but he now concentrates on Park, and for a practice facility he built a massive warehouse (The Animal House) packed with ramps in his adopted hometown of Greenville, NC.

As if dominating BMX wasn’t enough to keep him busy, Mirra also found time to develop a video game series, host reality shows for MTV, start his own bike company (Mirraco), and start a family. Today Mirra splits his time between shredding on a BMX bike and his newfound love—rally car racing. The truth of the matter is that when Mirra puts his mind to something he cannot stop until he’s on top.

thats what its all about... just the love of the sport and the fun. i meen sure the money might be good but u have all these people out in the world that are so hardcore about what they do that they forget why they even started the sport! its for the love of the game! Dave Mirra is my hero he started at the same age that i am and he progressed and kept trying and look what hes become its amazing what people accomplish if they just put their minds to it!!

Dave Mirra is the man.Im not big into BMX but I know for a fact that this is a ledgend of all time. I had the pleasure to meet Dave Mirra when I built 2 Crf 250Rs for him and his friend Scott when I worked at Heritage Honda in Maysville Ky. He is a man of class like a champion should be but also really chill and down to earth. I would like to get a chance to kick it with Dave any time and set down and ask him about how his Honda's are holding up and talk to him about how he trains what it took for him to be a champion. I now am in the Air Force building jet engines and live in South Carolina in stead of the hills of Kentucky building dirt bikes like I love to do. Take it easy Dave and know you are a true inspiration.
